Clamcleat Insulators For Mk1 Racing Junior Cleats - PT422&23

The Clamcleat PT422&23 fits the Mk1 Racing Junior cleats. These Insulators have been created to eliminate electrolytic de-composition that can be found on aluminium and carbon masts when in a marine environment.

Over time the marine environment will slowly damage the aluminium or carbon unless a barrier is used between the cleat and the spar. In the past people have used paste or adhesive to keep the dissimilar compounds apart, which is always messy and time-consuming when it comes to removal and replacement.

The Clamcleat Insulators are a thin layer of plastic made to fit underneath the MK1 Junior cleats, The countersink cones fit under the screw or bolt heads and the baseplate fits under the alloy cleat. This prevents galvanic corrosion of the alloy cleat by keeping it separate from the fixings and surface. Quick and easy to fit. The base will flex to fit any size of mast/tube.

The PT422&23 is supplied as 1 base 2 cones, attached to a sprue, to keep the parts together. To remove it, just twist it off by hand. The cones are flexible enough to fit the slightly different size and shape of heads on self-tapping screws and bolts. Do not overtighten as you will just distort the cone. As long as the cleat does not move, it will be fine
