The Ortler is one of the few remaining double-stitched hiking boots on the market. This master tradition is only mastered by a few in the world. At Meindl, the apprentices are still taught the double seam as a manual work! The single seam joins the upper to the insole, the double seam (second seam) joins the upper to the midsole. The Ortler has a soft finish and polyurethane foam as ankle padding. Best suited for demanding trekking, hard hiking, and high mountain hiking even on bad paths and trails or on scree. You can also master climbing routes with the Ortler. The shaft is made from one piece with only a few seams. This is shoe craftsmanship of the master class, which stands for particularly high quality and durability!

Air-Active® Soft Print dry sole
The Air Active® Soft Print drysole footbed provides soft cushioning along the entire surface of the footbed. The Soft Print foam is put directly on the drysole fleece. No glue is used for connecting the two materials to ensure optimum moisture transfer.

DiGAfix®
DiGAfix® is the flexible, diagonal retaining system. In the instep area it exerts no pressure on the foot and allows for the ideal "counter-lacing".

Double-stitching
Shoe-making at its best! Genuine double-stitching – Quality at first sight. Meindl has been convinced of the traditional craftsmanship of double-stitching for generations. This tradition requires absolute mastery and only very few shoemakers still command the skill to do it. Some of our mountain and trekking boots, and of course most of our classic brogues, are genuinely double-stitched. They stand out with their particularly high quality and outstandingly long service life. The typical feature of a double-stitched boots is the visible double seam.
